#AboutLastNight Social Media Recognizes LeBron James’ 30,000 Points

For over 15 years, LeBron James has dominated the NBA with his unworldly skills. Entering the league at just 18 years old, the spotlight has been on LeBron since high school. His dominance has inspired people all over the world, and not just basketball players, soon dubbing him “The King.”

On Tuesday night, LeBron and the Cleveland Cavaliers were on the road visiting the San Antonio Spurs in what was just another road trip, but this would be a special night for LeBron. With only seven points coming between himself and the 30,000 point club, fans were counting down the moments. LeBron sealed the deal with a mid-range dagger over Danny Green and officially became the youngest NBA player to ever accomplish this milestone.

LeBron shared a moment with his championship teammate and best friend, Dwyane Wade.

His accolades speak for themselves — 14-time NBA All-Star, 3-time NBA champion, 3-time NBA Finals MVP, 4-time NBA MVP, Olympic gold medalist — and the list goes on. Tuesday night, LeBron eclipsed yet another milestone in his illustrious career by becoming just the seventh player in the history of the NBA to reach 30,00o (!!!) career points. LeBron joins the likes of Kobe Bryant, Dirk Nowitzki, Michael Jordan, Karl Malone, Wilt Chamberlain, and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar in this exclusive club.

LeBron also took a second to recognize his younger self on Instagram.

NBA legends, celebrities and fans from all walks of life joined in on congratulating The King via social media.

The team over at Uninterrupted put together a video for the King.

Even Champagne Papi himself, Drake, got in on the celebration.

Bleacher Report came through with the awesome graphic, as it always does.

Here’s also a throwback video of LeBron’s first points to his 30,000th.

LeBron has inspired a generation of young, up and coming basketball players like Trae Young.

The question now is, will The King eclipse Kareem’s 38,387 career points? Congratulations on a historic milestone, LeBron, and kudos to all the content creators who helped him celebrate.
