Snapchat has never shied away from taking steps in any direction in order to stay ahead of the game. They’ve become a highly profitable company thanks to the introduction of Geofilters and interactive lenses. What we’ve learned over the last few years is that they’re serious about their business and are here to stay for the long run.
With their latest project, they’ve teamed up with a number of European soccer clubs to bring more excitement to the stands. Fans in attendance to any matches of these participating clubs will gain access to special Lenses that correspond with whatever team they’re located nearest to. Although there isn’t a match played every day, those within the stadium of each team will still get access to the lenses. With them, they’ll be able to share with their friends how rowdy they can get and also have an exclusive look to their snaps. The lenses feature a painted face mask over yours once the app picks up on it, and once it does so, a soccer ball begins to bounce on your head.
